I’ve borrowed and adapted your theme to create the White Lion theme for The White Lion Blog. I’ve credited you in the styles.css file and in the post introducing the theme (which I’m writing now). I’ll be refining the sidebars over the coming days. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting, Regis!
VERY nice and clean layout i am tempted on using it on my graphic design site, its not bloated or overly used up! :)
Keep up the good work!
Very nice theme, but im not shure why i see the right sidebar under the posts and not at the left…
I’m a total newbie with WP, but I love your theme. My only problem is that it seems to have a fixed length, so it cuts off long posts so you can’t see the bottom, and only lets you read a couple of shorter posts. Any suggestions?
@joelsephus: I thought I had fixed that problem :/ What browser and version are you using?
I think you should totally make this a theme for Tumblr.
how i change the .CSS to another color???
@ldmx
go to header.php and remove the comment tags () on both sides from the theme you want to use below.
It appears to work fine in IE 7, but has problems in Firefox 3 and the new Google Chrome.
oh, and I’m using v. 1.11
can any one pleas tell me how to remove or edit the ABOUT BLOG from right top of the page?
any suggestions?
Hm, no actually. I’m using latest Chrome and Firefox myself and have none of your problem. Maybe you can send me a screenshot or something further explaining the problem.
Mmmm yes thanks, it’s great and the css is simple and clean enough for me to understand and tweak it to my liking with out it exploding.
Used it for violetia.ca
It might be easier if you just took a look at the site from a couple of different browsers, including Firefox and IE 7 (which, I just noticed, pushes the pages tabs at the top all the way over to the left). The address is http://www.tabulaplena.com.
Thanks!
Yes, your blog seem to have some issues. In IE7 it’s all miss-aligned and in Firefox the page get cut off at the bottom.
So I downloaded the theme from Wordpress theme page and tested it myself (in IE7 and latest Firefox). And it looked perfectly fine. So either you got some old code or just tampered with it yourself. So my advice is to download the theme again and replace all files.
Thanks! I don’t know why, but that worked.
Hey Man,
Really really nice design–one of the best so far in the new WP theme directory.
However, I don’t understand why you hard-coded your “this is my blog” etc with a pic of yourself into the sidebar. Why do you want people to have to edit your code to change that text?
You could simply put some php that would grab the default About page text and than any beginner could modify that text.
Here’s the code (if I can get it to post correctly):
<?php the_content('Continue Reading »‘); ?>
Okay, my code didn’t work in here, so I created a post for it on one of my blogs. You can check out the code if you’d like, or not [link above]
Great theme!
The “About the blog” is meant for to be something people would change, it’s just there to show how it could look. When placing a widget in the sidebar they automatically overwrite anything hard-coded that is there already. I figured that if they didn’t run widgets and instead edited the sidebar on their own, they knew enough to edit the about text.
That make sense. I wondered if it had something to do with the widget deal. I’ve never used those.
When I saw your screenshot I really liked the idea of the about page in the sidebar like that, so that’s why I was thinking it would auto-load. I understand why you’d do it that way. Anyway, nice design.
Hi,
Found an issue in IE6: when you use more than one blockquote in a post, the left margins for the rest of the page get screwy.
Fix: add “display:inline-block;” to blockquote style tag.
Hope to save someone aggravation….
Thanks, Brittney, hadn’t noticed that before. Will add it in the next update.
The page loads perfectly in Firefox, but it’s out of whack in IE 7. Any ideas?
Thank you.
John: could be the second post there (The Consequences of Flawed…) that’s causing it. I guess you pasted it from somewhere and some strange code went with it. Try remove the formatting on that post and see what happens.
Thank you so much……—But how did you know that was the reason?
You’re good!
Well the text got cut off right after that title so it made sense to start looking there ;)
Thank you again and good luck…
Hello,
first of all, what a beautiful theme. I have only one issue with it.
The links / tabs in the upper part of the site, only arrange themself alfabetical and not in order of the id’s the page is given.
I hope you can fix this!
Kind Regards,
Robbert
Robert: you can actually change that on your own. Go into Design > Theme Editor > header.php and look for the text
('sort_column=post_title&depth=1&title_li=')Then just change
sort_column=post_titletosort_column=menu_orderThanks for the fast reply Regis!
Nice theme, thanks for your good job.
Hi Regis,
i’d like to inform you that i´m using your theme on my datenblog.de.
Thank you for this great theme!
Regis,
Wonderful theme and easy to modify.
The link tabs in the header are nice but seem to be redundant. What is the purpose of having two sets of links - one set in the header and an identical set in the sidebars? Is there a way to limit the number of header tabs so you only include the most important ones? Can I remove the links entirely from the header section?
Thanks again for a great theme,
Ron
Ron: The one in the sidebar is optional, and it doesn’t really fit since you got the header tabs.
You can’t remove any links except to remove or hide the pages, but if you really want (and got the knowledge) you can go into the header.php file and manually place the pages.
Hi there,
I would like to use this theame on my website but how can I change the ‘About this Blog’ column, sorry I am pretty new to wordpress and cant find it anywhere.
David: Just add a widget and it will replace whatever is in the sidebar. WP Admin > Design > Widgets
Thanks very much Regis
Hi,
Great theme. Really good work. I am really hoping to be able to use it on my new blog.
I would like to be able to use a custom header image and would like to be able to drop down the center body section to make room for it. Can I do this in the templates?
Sincerely,
Nathan King

Hi,
Nice theme! It’s clean and elegant looking. I’m currently using this theme on my Blog with slight modification. Thanks for your great work!
Sincerely,
Leptians
Nathan: it is not supported to move the header too much, it’s pretty set on the current size, but you are of course free to try.
Regis: this theme is missing closing tag of body and html in footer.php.
This could cause an issue for certain WP plugins such as wp-super-cache.
Very nice theme. I’m kinda new to this but I have figured out how to change the image and text in the About this site box in the sidebar. I was, however, hoping to use pages as true pages and not have the comments box at the bottom. Is this possible or are you using the same template for both pages and posts?
Thanks
Jay
Leptians: thanks, fixed it in new version (that should be available when WP has tested it)
Jay Zenner: it’s possible. Just edit the page and uncheck “allow comments” which will hide it.

1.14 download?
Are you going to develop a category.php file for Disciple?
Of course. Thanks
Hi Regis
Just wanted to add my note of thanks for the excellent theme to the growing list here. I have spent hours today installing, testing and then uninstalling themes, and kept coming back to yours as the comparison point. Disciple theme came up trumps each time, and will now stay on my blog.
Thanks again for the fine work, and for making it available to us design-challenged wp users.
BUG
404 code
Thanks for your wonderful theme. I’ve been playing with it for two weeks now, but I didn’t need to change much. One question though: I can’t see my own trackback URL’s using this theme. Is this theme related or have I been screwing up the theme?
You should be able to see all trackbacks, even your own internal. Sometimes it won’t add them if you edit in a link later, but it should show most of the times.
Thanks for the reply. What I mean are the trackback-url’s below the post. Where should the code for that trackback be? IN wat .php file, on what line?
If you got the code it should probably go in comments.php, but know that separate trackbacks have not been tested and are not supported. Can’t help you much more than that I’m afraid.
Thanks, with your help and some other themes I figured it out.
Muy buen tema. Lo estoy modificando poco a poco.
Thank you so much for this splendid theme ! I’ve already adopted it for my blog ! It’s so nice !
Thank you very much !
Thanks for the theme.. I monetized the theme.. adding few things here and there.
All that’s causing the problem is the midbar/midtext area - that breaks the layout.
I love this theme. I’ve been trying to use a comment rating plugin with it, though, and have been having problems. I’ve tried both Comment Karma and Simple Karma. Can you, or anybody here, think of why they wouldn’t be working?
When I use Comment Karma the thumbs up/down images only appear on about half of the comments even though I’ve got it in the foreach loop. Also, the images that do show up are unresponsive. With Simple Karma, the plugin seems to activate fine, but then when you go to manage it there is just a message that says “select the database you would like to manage” with nothing else on the page…
I’m not great at this stuff, but I’ve been trying different things for days with no luck…
Regis,
I checked out numerous themes (100’s it would seem) until I came across yours. This theme is very well done… it is clean and efficient and was just what I was looking for… now I don’t have to worry about the ‘look’ as I can focus on the ‘content’.
Thanks for the great theme.
Darren
Hello !
Thank you very much for this nice theme.
I’ve already traduced it in french. Do you want it ?
Hi, Love the theme. I’m using it for http://publishing4profit.com/myblogs/.
Two problems:
1. When viewing another ‘page’ in the blog, there is no tab to get back to the main post page
2. Google Ads won’t show up in the right sidebar using a text widget. The exact same code works in a text widget in the left sidebar.
Disciple is my new favorite theme! The only issue I have is with the presence of a scroll bar when viewed in 1024×768, the res that most of my visitors use. It seems that the content is around 10px too wide. Is there a way to downsize the content so that the bar goes away? (Everything I’ve tried breaks the layout!) Thanks a bunch!
How do I change the header image? really nice theme but as a noobie, im having great difficulty making adjustments…
Thanks all for enjoying the theme, much appreciated.
Gagan: just move the ad down from the header file and into the index file. You can probably figure it out.
Steve: sounds more like a plugin error to me, you should check its FAQ.
Chris: you can always navigate back to the start page by click on the blog title, if that was what you meant. As for the Google Ads I can’t really helpt you since I have had no experience with it. Maybe it’s because it’s the exact same code?
Mark: what browser are you using then? I have tested the theme in almost all known and it works perfectly down to 1024×768.
JC: that’s a bit tricky. I don’t really have support for custom logo and to do it you probably need to know what you’re doing.
Great theme!
One problem I found is when using hierarchy categories, the list image for a parent is centered outside all of the children. Fix was in style.css, changing center to top:
#widgets2 .widget_categories li { background:url(’images/34.png’) top left no-repeat; }
Should probably be done for #widgets1 too.
This is a beautiful template! Congratulations on a job well done! It is classy with lots of nicely nuanced little touches to it. I like the color choices, too!
I love the tabs at the top for navigating between pages, but my wish list would include being able to have a tab there for the “front page” (as it were) of blog posts.
I am new at this, so forgive me if I am overlooking the obvious!
Nice theme! I plan on using the theme for a long time at my blog found at intheory.tv.
Thanks for making the theme.
nice time dude, i’l try it
I love the theme and find it almost perfect for what I’m wanting to do, just had a question, if you don’t mind.
I have Simple:Forums and WPG2 setup and was wondering if there was a way that I could set it up so that when a user selected those pages that it would hide the left widget frame and expand the middle to allow the forums/gallery to display along the entire width.
I’m a noob to CSS and Wordpress, but I’m doing what I can to familiarize myself.
I’m using this theme, and love it! I’ve made a couple changes (font and font size) - but really like it overall.
One question: can you tell me how to change the “contact me” in the top left corner to be “home” instead? I want readers to click on “home” and go back to the home page.
Thanks,
Laurie

Hi.
For some reason my right sidebar is at my footer and my footer is on the right sidebar. I didn’t touch anything and this seemingly happened over night. Any thoughts?
Thanks man.. it worked :)
