I read earlier today in Webmonkey that Google were working on their own web browser, and that it would be up for testing today. First I was sceptical, I mean, when do they stop? I figured there would be no way they could be Firefox. Good old Firefox, I will never betray you. Mostly I was concerned over another browser that had their “vision” of the W3C standard and that I had to change everything to suite this browser beside FF and IE.

Webmonkey announced that the browser was now available for download. I thought it sounded interesting, so I installed Chrome, the Google web browser. I was blown away by the light design (tabs at the top - brilliant!) and sheer awesome speed. When I checked the memory compared to FF it was almost half. So it’s faster, lighter and looks better? I read the comic that was sent out earlier than expected (the reason Chrome was released today) and halfway throught I was completly sold.

Here’s the deal. Chrome make each tab into a “sandbox”, and it’s confined from the other tabs. What happen in one tab, stay in one tab. Not only can I see the huge benefits in security, but each tab also use their own process, making browsing extremely fast. The difference between FF and Chrome are noticeable. That’s saying a lot in these days.

I checked this blog’s design in Chrome, and was pleasantly surprised when it was exactly the way it looks in FF. Way to go, Google.

In the brief time I used it and read about it, I could not find any real disadvantages, only better stuff. That’s why I’m proud to say:

Chrome is my new browser of choice.
